Professor Yao Xi-ming of Shanghai University was invited to give a special lecture in our university

In order to further change in the educational thought, renew the educational concept, and help the international development of the college, on the afternoon of May 17th, our college specially invited Professor Yao Xi-ming, deputy director of the International Department of Shanghai University, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and dean of the School of International Education, to carry out a special lecture about the thoughts on the internationalization strategy of China's higher Education-taking Shanghai University as an example in the lecture hall on the third floor of the administrative building. College leaders Wang Jin-wen, Wang Yan-jie, Zhang Gang, Shen Yan-xia, Du Hua-zhen, Qiu Yong-jian and all middle-level managers, responsible persons of secondary organizations, a total of more than 130 people, attended. The lecture was presided over by Wang Yan-jie, vice president of our college.

Wang Yan-jie first welcomed Professor Yao Xi-ming's visit to our college. Subsequently, Yao Xi-ming focuses on the understanding of the internationalization of education, the historical review of the internationalization of education in China and clarified that the internationalization of education is the inevitable choice of the road to a strong country.

First of all, he briefly introduced to the participants the profound connotation of the internationalization of education, pointing out that this is not only a shortcut to rapidly enhance the strength of colleges and universities, but also an important embodiment of the influence of universities.

Secondly, by enumerating the development process of China's educational internationalization, he put forward that Chinese colleges and universities should adhere to the strategy of bringing in and going out under the initiative of Belt and Road Initiative, so as to effectively expand the breadth and depth of multilateral educational cooperation and contribute to the internationalization of Chinese education.

Subsequently, Yao Xi-ming, combined with the policy requirements of the outline of the National medium-and long-term Education Reform and Development Plan, shared the international tasks in the double-first-class construction for those present: first, to build a cooperation platform to promote people-to-people exchanges between China and foreign countries; second, to strengthen practical cooperation and participate in the double-first-class construction of colleges and universities.

Thirdly, we should persist in improving quality and efficiency and improve the quality of international exchanges and cooperation. Finally, combined with the practice of internationalization strategy of Shanghai University, he expounded and shared it in detail from three aspects: the conditions of internationalization of Shanghai University, the internationalization strategy of building a high-level university and the current situation of the development of international education for studying abroad.

At the same time, he hopes that the relevant units can understand the far-reaching significance of the internationalization of education from Professor Yao Xi-ming's wonderful lectures, absorb the rich nutrition of the internationalization of education in China, and realize that the internationalization of education is of far-reaching significance on the road to becoming a powerful country. It also combines the actual needs of the internationalization construction work of the unit to discuss in detail and carry out corresponding work, so as to help the development of discipline and specialty construction, the construction of teaching staff, and the improvement of scientific research level .

  

Introduction:

Yao Xi-ming, male, doctor, professor, is now deputy director of the International Department of Shanghai University, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, and dean of the School of International Education.

He is mainly studied the western rhetoric, lexicography, cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and so on. In 2008, he went to the University of Pittsburgh to study as a visiting scholars; from 2008 to 2010, he served as dean of the Confucius Institute of Phuket at Prince Sonka University in Thailand. He has published more than 40 papers in the fields of sociolinguistics, lexicography and western rhetoric. There are more than 20 monographs, translations, textbooks and dictionaries. He is in charge of the National Social Science Foundation project Research on the History of Bilingual Dictionary of missionaries in China.
