On the evening of December 23rd, the New Year's Party of New Outset and New Journey for International students 2020, sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs and sponsored by the Students’ International Communication Association , was held in the Wende Auditorium. Attending the party were Du Huazhen, the provost , representatives of teachers from various schools (departments, departments), academies and functional departments, all members of the Foreign Affairs Department, representatives of student organizations and all international students. A total of more than 800 people gathered together to celebrate the New year.
At the beginning of the party, Du Huazhen delivered a New year speech. On behalf of the college, she expressed her New year's wishes to the teachers,Chinese students and international students. Speaking of the international students of the batch of 2019 who have just registered, she said: you are all folk cultural ambassadors from all over the world. You shoulder the dual mission of achieving academic success and promoting exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations. Welcome to China! She pointed out that after being approved to enroll foreign students in 2018, we successfully approved the Sino-foreign cooperative school project in 2019, opening up the pattern of foreign affairs work in which resource introduction and education output at the same time. 2020 is the final year of the college's 13th five-year Plan, and it is also a key year for the healthy development of international education. It is hoped that the majority of teachers will continue to adhere to the vision of international development, emancipate the mind and keeping up with the times .
The evening party includes not only dance performances full of foreign cultures, but also traditional Chinese martial arts program.There are not only passionate street dance performances, but also gentle love songs duet.Among them, the most attractive programs are the catwalk and chorus programs jointly performed by Chinese and foreign students, which push the party to the best part step by step. Finally, the party came to an end in a chorus of Chinese and foreign students, and the school leaders and all the performers took a group photo as a souvenir.
This event takes the Chinese Festival-New Year's Day as an opportunity to establish a platform for exchange between Chinese and international students. Through joint participation in the program, we have deepened our mutual understanding. At the same time, it not only creates an international atmosphere of the school, but also makes the international students of the 2019 class feel the enthusiasm of the world and can integrate into campus life more quickly and better to embrace their own new starting point and journey.
It is reported that in July 2017, our school was approved to enroll international students. In November 2018, the college launched its first enrollment work for international students in China, majoring in clinical medicine, with a six-year academic system.The first batch of 66 international students are mainly from Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Tanzania, Ghana and other five countries. By the end of December 2019, the number of international students will reach 130, the number of places of origin will increase from 5 countries to 11 countries, and the new enrollment countries in 2019 is Burundi, Cameroon, Comoros, Swaziland, Zambia and Malawi.
